Wireframing Workbrain with Balsamiq

One of the powerful characteristics of Workbrain is the ability to add new screens where necessary. When considering an investment into custom JSPs, it often helps to create mock ups or wireframes.
One particular client had an issue with project and docket allocations. The issue was not related to training, but rather the short time frame between receiving paperwork from the field and closing payroll. The core project and docket overrides required a vast amount of time, and required reconciling with an excel sheet to ensure proper allocation. In this case, sticking with a core solution meant one of the following:
- Miss the payroll deadline and cut 200+ off cycle checks per week.
- Train and add permanent headcount to help during payroll close.
Using Balsamiq to create a set of wireframes assisted in accelerating a custom JSP that would facilitate project and docket entry, and perform the day's reconciliation via javascript validations. The client could clearly see the entry fields and status labels, and quickly green lit the additional scope.
